Note: I think you need to read book 1 Blight to fully appreciate this story.After much eager anticipation, After Blight is here! As this is not my usual genre, I have to say I think I preferred book 2 as it was less gory - LOL.
This story is very complex and I have enjoyed watching it(if a little impatiently) be slowly unveiled. Some questions from Blight were answered, but there are still some to be answered, so looking forward to book 3 where all will be revealed. I have read Awakening, and now after reading After Blight, I am anticipating Auberon's story even more than before.
There are some very powerful lines in this book that make you think.
It is very deep, and I think some of the lines and concepts have layers that will slowly peel off for me over the next few days.
Once again the writing style of Ms Warneke does not disappoint.
It does make me wonder how the author comes up with these ideas, and how she can function until she gets this story out of her head and onto the pages... :)

This is the second book in the Blight series and we get more of the story of Beck the blight fighter. We find out WHO Beck really is and how she has put everything that has happened to her in the first & now the second book into motion. We find out who HIM(the amethyst eyed guy that haunts her in her dreams)is and what role he plays in the story. When I started this book I never read the first book in the series and was asked by the author to read the second to see if you were able to read and understand the story. At the start of the book I felt a little lost, but as the story progressed she filled in those missing pieces that I was looking for to understand the whole story. A.C. did a wonderful job of how she ended the story and was a great lead into the next book in the series. This is a honest review and my own thought on the story.

In the much anticipated sequel, After Blight carries on Rebecca Lewis' fight to rid the world of the Blight, find her place, bring an end to her personal madness, and end up in the arms of the one she loves and needs more than life itself.

After Blight adds new depth and definition to the primary characters we met in Blight (Beck, Wilson, Michael, Max, HIM), and adds a new pallet of supporting characters, some you just want to hate and some you just want to love. The new stand out character for me was Donovan, living life for years confined to a cell, his primal attitude and lust for life is positive, refreshing and playful. The humor he adds to the story helps offset some of the dark atmosphere that is After Blight.
Reviewing After Blight is not an easy task - the story is complex (this is not a standalone book, but a continuation of Blight), many of the questions left in the readers mind at the end of Blight, will be answered in this book, but many more will be presented leaving the reader with the desire to have more of the BIG picture. Thinking about the overall story so far, is like peeling the layers from an onion, each layer links to another important part of the overall plot, and sharing spoilers is just not what I want to do.
The writing is strong, editing good, and the imagination of the author is fantastic, at times I think she experiences what goes on in Beck's mind. For those that have read the author's book Awakening, you may notice threads that make you say "oh yeah", and that's a good thing. For now I'm happy where After Blight has taken me as a reader, but I really want more of the Big picture...I see so much potential in this storyline, and for me I see the true love story, I can imagine and feel the explosive consummation of that love, and I want to be there when it happens.
