Acclaimed novelist Joe Hart (The Last Girl) brings the engrossing dystopian paranoia of his popular Dominion series to the comics page in collaboration with award-winning comic book writer Stuart Moore (The Zodiac Legacy) and celebrated illustrator Michael Montenat (Clive Barker's Hellraiser).
In the near future, with the world's female population on the brink of extinction, teenager Janie Tenner is taken by the sinister National Obstetric Alliance. Desperate to escape and reunite with her missing sister, she finds an unlikely ally grieving father Tom Vincent, whose own daughter has disappeared.
But will Tom lead Janie out of the darkness to the promised land...or into a fresh new hell on earth?

Disclaimer: I received a free ecopy through Goodreads Giveaways in exchange for an honest review. The story is set in the near future. Something happened that caused the birth rate of female humans to plummet, which is a reverse of Y: The Last Man. This follows Janie Tanner while she is on the run trying to protect her sister. There are numerous groups that are trying to find any women they can with different agendas.
The art is okay. I can't think of any drawings that were bad, but on the flip side there weren't any that floored me. This is a decent introduction to the story and the characters. It spends a lot of time setting things up. There is a bit of potential in this story, but the portion contained here didn't wow me. I can see this developing into something cool.

The Last Sacrifice The Dominion Trilogy #1 of 4 eBook Stuart Moore Joe Hart Michael Montenat Andrew Dalhouse Chris Summers Reviews
I won this book as part of a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
In a world where the female population is on the brink of extinction, 15 year old Janie Tenner doesn't know who she can trust. Separated from her sister, Janie is taken to a facility where she is put through a string of tests. Finally able to make an escape, a grieving father by the name of Tom Vincent comes to her rescue. Janie feels safe for the first time since the world went crazy. But is Tom really who Janie thinks he is or will he betray her?
I tend to go back and forth when it comes to dystopian or apocalyptic type graphic novels so I wasn't sure how well I would enjoy this one. Some I have really liked while others have left me disappointed. The premise of this story is what initially intrigued me as I found the synopsis both interesting and uncomfortable at the same time. I admit it took me a little while to get into it. It bounces back and forth in time and at first was a bit confusing. Once I got past that and was able to sort it out, I became engrossed in the tale. The illustrations are visually appealing and I really enjoyed the main character, Janie. I definitely recommend and plan on reading the rest of this trilogy.
Will not read. Did not order. Is a graphic book which I never order
The art is nice, but the plot is superficial and geared towards having buy the sequels. Found it fairly boring.
Loved it. The illustrations were amazing.
